A guide to Majorca’s autumn fairs.

Autumn is the time of year that concentrates the greatest number of traditional fairs in Majorca, and particularly, in the northern part of the island, where towns and residents are still very much tied to agriculture and live stock, that used to be the main source of income in Majorca.

The most famous "firas de Tardor", autumn fairs, take place during October and, among them, the great "Fira de Alcudia" and the "Fira del Pebre Bord" in Felanitx stand out. It is possible to buy all types of autochthonous majorcan products similar to paprika pepper.

November begins with the colourful "Fira des Flors" in Palma and the third "Fira de Inca", also known as the Sustainability fair, where you can ecological products and innovative objects that are environmentally friendly. Halfway through the month, there is a celebration in Pollença a craftsmanship fair where you can buy beautiful traditional products from Majorca, and in Muro, the pumpkin becomes the star of a great agricultural and gastronomic fair.

Nevertheless, the biggest autumn fair in Majorca is organised every year in Inca, on the 15th of November and it’s known as Dijous Bo, as it has been traditionally celebrated always on a thursday, a day where farmers from all over Majorca would visit this great town to sell and show their products before the arrival of winter.

If you are thinking of making an autumn escapade to Majorca, at Garden Hotels we recommend that you take the chance to visit the fair of Dijous Bo, and taste some of the most tasteful traditional dishes that can be enjoyed during these months on the island.

In the northern part of the island you will find 5 of our best hotels in Majorca, where you will be able to enjoy a peaceful stay, with your partner or the whole family:
