Carnival in Majorca: a trip for the whole family

The second weekend of February the big party of Carnival is celebrated in Majorca, a tradition  based on fun, good cuisine and partying before starting the Christian Lent. Carnival in Majorca is the going away party of the earthly pleasures until the middle of Spring, and it is celebrated in grand style, with parades and dances in all the villages of the island.

Krewes, typical costumes combined with the ultimate novelties, flashy dresses and parades, picturesque traditions... A trip to Majorca during Carnival is a very different way to discover the island and get close to its culture and history in an entertaining way for children and adults.   The parades (“ruas” and “ruetas”) fill everything with colour and party; restaurants and bars prepare special typical recipes from Carnival; neighbours come up in the streets to admire the crafted costumes, the shows with overtones of irony; and good humour and the spirit of laughter dominate everything.

The festive appointments are numerous, being the most crowded those celebrated in the capital, Palma, with parades for children and adults. However, the most authentic Carnival events are lived in villages.   Alcudia is one of those places. Located on the north of Majorca, this township celebrates Carnival in a big way: the historic heart of the village takes on a unique festive appearance, a special market and activities for children are organised in town... In our family hotel in Alcudia we want to take part in this special celebration and we have prepared a special offer Carnival in Majorca for families full of irresistible proposals.

A weekend in Majorca with your children, with games and daily entertainment for the smallest ones, customes workshop, special dinners, children’s parade, mini disco...
