Art Palma Summer 2026: the contemporary art trail in Palma de Mallorca
With the arrival of warmer weather, Palma de Mallorca becomes the hub of one of the year’s most vibrant cultural events. The city centre streets are filled with a special energy, and the galleries open their doors to celebrate Art Palma Summer 2026 — an invitation to discover the city anew through fresh creative expressions in an open, sophisticated and welcoming atmosphere.
With this latest staging, Nivia Born Boutique Hotel reaffirms its commitment to local talent and cutting-edge culture, once again establishing itself as an essential stop on the art circuit. Our boutique hotel in Palma de Mallorca (part of Garden Hotels) is transforming its spaces into a setting that unites hospitality and reflection, offering guests and visitors the opportunity to engage with the works of two emerging talents from ADEMA University College.
Exhibitions in Palma: ADEMA’s emerging artists at Nivia Born
If you’re looking for things to do in Palma de Mallorca during this season of events, the exhibition at our hotel offers an intimate and in-depth insight through two exclusive collections.
Aina Arrom’s Silent Dialogue: “The Yellow Armchair”
The artist Aina Arrom invites us to explore identity through her work The Yellow Armchair (acrylic on canvas, 2025). More than just a painting, the work presents itself as a psychological self-portrait that showcases introspection and the search for one’s own voice. The central theme of the work is the gaze: deep, direct and eloquent in its silence. Aina engages the viewer in an interplay of reflections, inviting them to cross the threshold between the everyday and the dreamlike, prompting them to ask: how much of what we see belongs to reality, and how much stems from the inner world?
This quiet serenity dovetails perfectly with the philosophy of Nivia Born, designed as a true haven of calm and comfort right in the heart of the city. The textures and atmosphere of the painting blend seamlessly with the hotel’s interior design, inviting guests to slow down, pause and enjoy a moment of quiet reflection and visual contemplation in a space that encourages them to ‘switch off’.
Marina Albero Pérez: Memory, Archive and “The Innocent for the Guilty”
Marina Albero Pérez presents The Innocent for the Guilty (2025), a large-scale work that emerged from a research process as complex as it is emotional. The artist pays tribute to her grandfather, Vicente Albero, a professional photographer, by selecting a key scene from over 500 photographs, taken from her family archive, that date from the 1950s to the 1970s. Through this powerful image, Marina transports us back to Spain under the dictatorship to reflect on normalised violence, using symbolism to depict a society where even children weren’t safe from the harshness of life at the time.
The presence of a piece with such narrative power adds a unique layer of emotional depth to the hotel’s contemporary space. In an environment where every corner yearns to speak of authenticity, Marina’s work draws the eye like a magnet, enriching the visitor’s experience with a bold and honest perspective that sparks conversation, connects with collective memory and demonstrates that the art on display at Nivia Born in Palma is not just decorative, but a vehicle for emotional expression.
