Music, culture and tradition go hand in hand in the new repertoire for the Orfeó Balear 2023-2024 season, which we will tell you about here, along with some of the most special sites you can find at the Mallorcan capital.

Which is why we want to show you the new Orfeó Balear 2023-2024 season, which we recommend you look at in detail on its website. This symphonic choir, which performs beautiful compositions from the 18th century all the way to the present day, attracts more than 10,000 spectators every year with its melodies. You can’t miss it!
And for an added bonus, you’ll have the chance to visit some of the most beautiful places in the Mallorcan capital, such as the Santa Creu parish church, one of the first of its kind in Palma, dating back to the 14th century and built in the Gothic style. There is also the Palma Auditorium, which was the first modern auditorium built in Spain. A building inaugurated in 1969 and built on the initiative of the entrepreneur Marc Ferragut Fluxà. The story goes that he was a great music lover and that the building hosted a performance by the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Herbert von Karajan, in front of the cream of Mallorcan society at the time.
New programme to delight your senses
Below are some of the Orfeó Balear’s most outstanding performances:
- Friday 8 December at 1pm: The Orfeó Balear sings a mass for the Immaculate Conception at the Santa Creu parish church (Carrer de Sant Llorenç, 4). Free admission.
- Sunday 17 December at 7pm: The Orfeó Balear and the European Symphony Orchestra perform ‘Messiah’ at the Palma Auditorium (Av. de Gabriel Roca, 18), along with soloists Mar Vives, Ángela Lorite, Arturo Garralón and Sebastià Serra, all conducted by maestro Daniel Mulet. You can buy tickets at the ticket offices or on the Auditorium website.
- Saturday 30 December at 8:30pm: The Orfeó Balear and the organ of Santa Creu perform the traditional “Christmas Concert and Song of the Sibyl” at the Parish Church of Santa Creu. Free admission.
A concert by the Orquestra Camerata Balear is also scheduled to take place between the end of November and the beginning of December, the dates of which are yet to be determined.
