Known on the island as ‘La fira de les fires’, Dijous Bo is the culmination of Inca’s autumn fairs, a time when thousands of people come together to experience one of the island’s most eagerly awaited events. Dimecres Bo: The start of the big week
Prior to the commencement of Dijous Bo, the municipality of Inca commemorates different fairs before reaching its climax. And it is precisely the day before, known as Dimecres Bo or “Good Wednesday”, when you can start counting the organised activities in their dozens. Dimecres Bo serves as a prelude to Dijous Bo and on this day, Inca hosts a great popular festival that floods the streets with music, dance and a festive atmosphere that brings locals and visitors together. In short, it marks the start of a series of events including concerts, exhibitions, sports competitions and cultural events, which prepare the ground for the big fair the following day.
Dijous Bo: Tradition and culture at its best
Dijous Bo begins on Thursday as the central day, when an agricultural, livestock and commercial fair is held, attracting thousands of people from all over the island and beyond. The streets of Inca are filled with stalls selling local products, handicrafts and an exhibition of local breeds, with a livestock exhibition featuring the black pig and an exhibition of international poultry breeds. Visitors to Dijous Bo can also enjoy dressage shows, agricultural machinery exhibitions and a host of activities for all ages.
The big week of Dijous Bo represents the “inquer (or Inca) pride” and is a perfect occasion for Inca to open its doors to all those who want to discover the essence of this town.
