Once again, we’re pleased to announce the event for cycling enthusiasts that will take place from 24th to 28th January 2024 in Mallorca. The island’s natural landscapes and incomparable beauty make it the perfect place for this sport, which attracts professionals and amateurs from all over the world. This year, there’s a new event that we’re particularly excited about: the addition of the women’s race.
A new year brings with it new challenges, so don’t miss this world sporting event that takes place in the spectacular scenery of Mallorca, making it the epicentre of international cycling. We’re talking about the Garden Hotels Luxcom Cyclist Challenge Mallorca 2024.
The major novelty this year is the Women’s Challenge event, which will be held for the first time on 20th, 21st and 22nd January. The competition will precede the Garden Hotels Luxcom Cyclist Challenge Mallorca 2024, which will be held from 24th to 28th January.
The best riders in the international women’s peloton will pedal the island’s roads for three days, and will start the season in Mallorca. They’ll compete for three trophies: the Felanitx-Colonia de Sant Jordi Trophy on Saturday 20th January, the Palma Trophy on Sunday 21st January and the Binissalem-Andratx Trophy on Monday 22nd January.
So far, we know that the World Champion, Mavi García from Palma, is the best competitor in the Women’s Challenge. With the 33rd edition of the men’s race, the world’s best cyclists will once again kick off the cycling season in Europe. From Wednesday 24th January, five trophies will be contested: the Calvià Trophy on Wednesday 24th January, the Ses Salines-Felanitx Trophy on Thursday 25th January, the Serra de Tramuntana-Selva-Lluc Trophy on Friday 26th January, the Pollença-Port d’Andratx Trophy on Saturday 27th January and the Palma Trophy, which will be held on Sunday 28th January.
In addition, thousands of fans will be able to follow the Garden Hotels Luxcom Cyclist Challenge Mallorca 2024 live on Eurosport and Teledeporte, just like last year.
We’re so looking forward to feeling the thrill of cycling! As official sponsors of the race (sponsorship that we have the luxury of renewing until 2027) we emphasise our commitment to sport and, in this case, also to women’s sport. We’ll keep an eye on the news of this exciting race, which we’ll share with you in detail on our blog.
Garden Hotels, with sport: we’re cycling-friendly
For ten days, the Playa Garden Selection Hotel & Spa and the Alcúdia Garden Aparthotel will host the large caravan of runners, organisation, team staff and accredited national and international media for the men’s and women’s races. This is a major responsibility for Garden Hotels, and also a great opportunity to transmit our philosophy promoting sustainability, alongside Unisport Consulting. This makes the Mallorca Challenge one of the most sustainable races in the international cycling calendar. How? Through our circular economy strategy: our hotels’ BioCorner proposals with 0 km and ecological products, the absence of single-use plastics and how we manage waste generated during stays in our establishments.
If you want to feel welcomed by real cycling specialists, we invite you to discover our hotels for cyclists and, of course, to join us here as we follow the Garden Hotels Luxcom Cyclist Challenge Mallorca 2024. The sky’s the limit, when you’re on your bike!
