The start of this edition will be on Saturday the 29th of April. This is one of the most exciting cycle races in the world, taking place in beautiful natural scenery, crossing the Serra de Tramuntana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the northern part of the island of Mallorca, where glorious beaches meet nature reserves, history, and tradition.
8.000 cyclists from all around the globe, including about 2.000 local participants, will pedal across the island in a beautiful race, full of passion, and completely safe. It has had a huge impact worldwide, and during the past 14 years, we have seen many top-level cyclists taking part including Miguel Indurain, Alberto Contador, Perico Delgado, Sean Kelly, Ivan Basso, Jan Ullrich, Pedro Horrillo, Joseba Beloki, Purito Rodríguez and Oscar Freire.
With its hundreds of kilometres and many climbs, this demanding endurance test requires athletes to be in great physical shape. It’s possible to do the 312 kilometres that give the race its name, an intermediate distance of 225 kilometres, or a somewhat lighter 167 kilometres. All these options have the starting and finishing line in Playa de Muro. Let’s not forget that this race is incredibly safe, as roads are closed during the Mallorca 312 to ensure the safety of participants and spectators so that everyone can feel this wonderful sport’s excitement and adrenaline rush.
