At Garden Hotels we would like to share with you a very special initiative that we launched recently and that fills us with pride: our communication campaign #ElijoSerResponsable (ChooseToBeResponsible). This project aims to put the spotlight on the people who make our environmental initiatives possible, highlighting their commitment and dedication while exemplifying how each person can do their bit to better protect our planet.
Every month, we will share a new initiative on our social media profiles that reflects our commitment to sustainability and the circular economy through the people who make up our great team at Garden Hotels. Because we believe that we can only be a benchmark company in sustainability if our employees also firmly believe in this goal.
So, in January we met Ángel, a technical services technician at Alcudia Garden Aparthotel, a mountain bike enthusiast and one of the people responsible for supervising our sustainable initiative in collaboration with the University of the Balearic Islands. As part of this initiative, we have set ourselves the goal of informing our customers about using water responsibly by installing smart meters. Because saving water is essential in this day and age.
In February, we celebrated World Energy Day by introducing Mar, Marketing Assistant at Garden Hotels headquarters. Mar, a dreamer and inveterate traveller, drives the electric cars that Garden Hotels offer to all its employees so they can travel sustainably to meetings and visits, thus contributing towards reducing our carbon footprint.
These two actions are just the beginning of #ChooseToBeResponsible, another example of our commitment to sustainability and the circular economy , and we are particularly excited because it comes from our own team, setting an example not only as a company, but also as people committed to such important work.
