And what better way than on World Energy Saving Day, which is celebrated every 21 October, to reinforce our commitment to the efficient use of resources and to a model of tourism that is more respectful of the environment.
One of the big steps towards sustainability that we have taken is the implementation of solar panels in many of our hotels. This renewable energy source allows us to significantly reduce our electricity consumption, reducing our carbon footprint and helping to preserve the natural environment around us. We also do not forget to promote energy saving practices in all our services, so that each stay has the least possible impact.
To convey our passion for the constant pursuit of sustainability in tourism, we asked ourselves a couple of questions on World Energy Saving Day.
How can you save energy during your holidays?
As tourists, we also have a key role in saving energy. That’s why today we’re sharing some practical tips to help you enjoy your holiday responsibly:
-Turn off lights and devices: When you are not in the room, be sure to turn off lights, televisions and other electrical appliances.
-Efficient use of air conditioning: Set the air conditioning to a moderate temperature and turn it off if it is not necessary.
-Reuse towels and sheets: Instead of requesting daily changes, you can contribute to the reduction of energy consumption in washing.
-Disconnect chargers: Chargers consume energy, even if they are not in use. Switch them off if you don’t need them.
-Make the most of natural light: Keep curtains open during the day to brighten the room without using electricity.
And how can you save energy at home?
When you return from your holiday, you can also save energy in your home by installing LED light bulbs, opting for energy efficient appliances, using programmable thermostats, switching appliances to standby mode and cooking efficiently by using lids on pots to conserve heat and reduce cooking time.
