At Garden Hotels, we’ve set ourselves the goal of recognising any employees within our establishments who exemplify sustainable practices, a commitment that we embrace with determination. This month, as part of our #IChooseToBeResponsible campaign, we would like to introduce you to Montse, a key member of our Housekeeping team at Cala Millor Garden Hotel.
Originally from Catalonia, she decided to make Mallorca her home almost a decade ago. Since then, she has nurtured a deep love for the island, appreciating every corner of its natural beauty while striving to preserve it for future generations.
One of the responsibilities of Montse and her team is to ensure that all the drinks in our hotel rooms are local products from Begudes Puig, a Mallorcan soft drinks brand with whom we share a commitment to the zero kilometre and circular economy philosophy. All its drinks, in 33 and 20 cl glass format, are bottled in its plant located in Mallorca. In this regard, our team not only supports local producers, but also manages to reduce the carbon footprint associated with transporting goods over long distances.
The importance of daily actions
Montse stands out in her daily life for her dedication to sustainability. Her meticulous and conscientious approach to her work ensures that waste is minimised and resources are maximised. By choosing local products, she contributes to Mallorca’s economy while promoting a more responsible and sustainable consumption model.
At Garden Hotels, we believe that every little action counts. The daily actions of our workers and colleagues like Joana or Nuria and Joan are a reminder that sustainability begins with the small details. From selecting local suppliers to efficiently managing resources, every effort adds up to create a positive impact. A big thanks to them for being such an inspiration and for showing that choosing to be responsible is a decision that benefits everyone. We will continue to hear more inspiring stories from our team so that you can join in in with our #IChooseToBeResponsible campaign in your everyday life. And you? Will you join us in building a greener future?
