Every 15 March, this date invites us to reflect on our consumption habits and to promote a positive impact on society through our daily choices. This is not a task to be carried out on just one day a year, we must be constant and make a firm commitment to sustainability.
That is why today we want to highlight and show you with practical examples how we can be more responsible with our daily gestures. This is how the #ElijoSerResponsable (I choose to be responsible) campaign was created, an opportunity to highlight our employee’s specific actions that demonstrate that every choice counts.
This is the inspiring story of Lorena, who started as a head chef and this year has been promoted to second chef at our Cala Millor Garden Hotel. Lorena incorporates sustainability in her daily routine and in the hotel kitchen. Her initiative takes shape in the production of spectacular smoothies, many of which are created from fruit and vegetables that are not consumed during the buffet service and are in perfect condition. This practice aims to reduce the squandering of food, a valuable gesture in the fight against food waste.
In addition to her creativity in the kitchen, Lorena takes an eco-friendly approach to her daily mode of transport: the bicycle. Travelling along the promenade on two wheels is not only a healthy choice, but also a statement of commitment to sustainable mobility and to reducing the carbon footprint.
